Fluence Control

To ensure quality of service and a common practice across the ion beam network, each of the labs offering ion implantaiton services as part of SPIRIT (HZDR, KUL, CEA, SUR) are developing a routine procedure for checking and comparing nominal implanted doses under different implantation conditions.

The fluence control study is underway and preliminary results were presented at ECAART in Athens in September 2010.  The poster that was presented can be found here.

This procedure will be based on a model developed at The Surrey Ion Beam Centre and is described on these pages.  Other facilities offering implant services are also encouraged to adopt this method and send any useful feedback to the Network Facilitator,

A draft document outlining the schedule of implants for the QA study can be found here.

A document outlining the measurement protocol can be fouhd here.

An example of a model QA report can be found here.

An Excel spreadsheet showing the working used to generate the report can be found here.
