Industry Days

Each transnational access facility will hold one regional industry day over the course of the project.  Details of forthcoming events will be posted here.

 

Industry Day at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf, Germany, October 2009 

In October 2009 the HZDR presented the ion beam facilities of the SPIRIT project at the industrial exhibition V2009 (Vacuum coating and plasma surface technology) to encourage users especially from industry to apply for the Transnational Access provided by the seven SPIRIT TNA partners. The SPIRIT consortium offers a wide spectrum of specific devices, methods and processes is available within the consortium, which covers standard applications and novel developments and is inline with the international state-of-the art. More than 60 exhibitors took the opportunity to explain the diversity of plasma proceedings and coating methods to an interested auditorium. The exhibition was accompanied by 6 specific workshops with the following topics: - medical engineering and biotechnology - solar and light engineering - optics - tool manufacturing, automotive engineering - plastics processing.

 

Promotion to UK Industry

Farnborough Air Show, Farnborough, U.K., 19-25 July 2010. This air show attracts many thousands of visitors from all over the world.

SPIRIT was also promoted at an Engaging with Industry day at SUR which was hosted by the University and the Technology Strategy Board. This attracted large, medium and small companies from across the UK.

 

Promotion to Croatian Industry

Milko Jaksic gave a talk entitled Development of Accelerator Techniques and Applications in Industry at a meeting in Zagreb on 22 February 2011. 50 participants from different industrial fields were in attendance.
